Applying for a Turkish Visa as an Indonesian or Indian Citizen

Spread the love

If you’re planning to travel to Turkey and you’re not a European Union (EU) citizen, there are certain rules you must follow before entering the country, specifically with regard to acquiring a Turkish visa, especially if you’re an Indonesian or Indian citizen. This guide will explain the process of applying for a Turkish visa as an Indonesian or Indian citizen, including some of the documents you will need to submit with your application and what you can expect when your application is reviewed by Turkish officials.

What you will need

A few things are required when applying for a Turkish visa from either Indonesia or India. Firstly, you need to be aware of where and how to apply. The consulate offices in both cities have information and requirements on their website. Secondly, you will also need some extra documentation that is specific to your situation, such as: proof of solvency and legal status (such as your passport), plus flight confirmation numbers and hotel reservation numbers if you’re only in Istanbul for one night. Thirdly, make sure you have time available on either side of your trip; visa applications may take several weeks to process! Turkish Visa for Indian Citizens

Where to submit your documents

Your passport, visa application, and photographs will be sent to our office in Istanbul. This can either be done by hand at a local consulate/embassy or by mail. It is important that your passport has at least one blank page left when you start your application process. Passports with no blank pages cannot be used as they are not accepted by Turkish immigration. If you wish to apply for multiple entry visas, please contact us and we can advise on what supporting documents are required to do so. It is possible to have someone post your documents if you are outside of Turkey but we recommend that all applications are made using original documentation.

Having the right documents

In order to apply for a Turkish visa, you’ll need to collect specific documents including your passport, valid for at least six months; two completed application forms; four passport-sized photos (2 must be signed on the back); and proof of funds. If you’re traveling from India, you may also need proof of vaccination against meningitis. The cost of your visa depends on whether it’s a single entry or multiple entries and how long it lasts. In many cases, fees can be paid in cash on arrival at Istanbul airport.

Documents in English

If you are applying to enter Turkey with your Indian passport, it is strongly recommended that you include official English translations of any documents that are not in English. This can be done via FedEx (although incredibly expensive) or with your local consulate. There is no requirement to provide Turkish translations, but it can certainly help expedite your visa application if you do have them included. You will need original copies of all documents plus one set of copies. Turkish Visa for Indonesian Citizens

Are you eligible?

The short answer is yes, you may be eligible. Turkish law permits almost all citizens of countries in South Asia and Southeast Asia to apply for tourist visas online, with no need to schedule a personal interview at your nearest Turkish consulate. So long as you have fulfilled each country’s specific requirements (which are outlined below), you will receive an electronic visa once your online application has been processed. Requirements vary by country, so please read on to learn more about what is required before applying. Note that if you are not eligible for electronic processing of your visa, you will need to schedule an appointment at one of Turkey’s many consulates throughout Indonesia and India before making your way to Turkey.

How long does it take?

Typically, it takes at least three to four months to get your Turkish visa. However, if you apply during your country’s peak tourist season (e.g., summer in India, winter in Indonesia), you can expect that timeline to double—or even triple. The process is faster and easier if you have friends or family living in Turkey who are willing to sponsor your trip. If not, enlist a travel agent and work closely with them throughout your application process; they will know what documents you need and can help ensure you have everything in order before submission day arrives. Good luck!

Do I need tourist insurance?

Before you make your trip to Turkey, be sure to check with your health insurance provider about coverage. It’s also always a good idea to get travel insurance—even if you’re not required to have it—especially if your trip is more than just a vacation. Travel insurance provides peace of mind in case something goes wrong with your trips, such as natural disasters, lost baggage, illness, or injury. Tourist insurance will usually cover you in these situations and more; however it will differ from one policy to another so check with your provider before making any plans.
