– The validity of a Japanese tourist visa will be increased from six months to one year.

– The minimum age requirement for a Japanese tourist visa will be lowered from 18 to 16 years.

– The fee for a Japanese tourist visa will increase from ¥14,000 to ¥22,000.

– A new scheme will be introduced where a Japanese tourist visa can be obtained upon arrival in India for a stay of up to 30 days.

What Affects Obtaining A Visa?

Changes to Indian visa for Japanese citizens and LATVIAN citizens have been announced by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. The new regulations will come into effect from 1st January, 2020. Japan was one of the original nine countries to sign a bilateral visa agreement with India in 1986.

The new regulations state that a visa must now be applied for at an Indian diplomatic mission or a consulate general in your country of residence. Applicants must also provide evidence that they will not stay more than 60 days in India and will not work for a company with more than fifty employees in India.

The changes are aimed at reducing the number of visa applications made by Japanese citizens, who make up the largest group of visitors to India. The number of Japanese tourists visiting India dropped by over 50% last year due to concern over the spread of contagious diseases in the country.

Latvian citizens have also seen their numbers increase in recent years as the country has become more popular as a tourist destination. The new regulations are likely to increase the popularity of Latvia as a tourist destination, as it becomes easier for Latvians to visit India without having to apply for a visa.
