A new law that is set to go into effect on December 1, 2017 will require every non-US citizen who enters the United States with a visa to enter and exit the country every time they travel to do so through a port of entry. This includes all individuals with an L, A, G, or B visa in their passport as well. Latvia’s position on Latvian nationals residing abroad is as follows:
-Since Latvia is a member of the European Union, EU citizens have the right to reside and work in any member state. US VISA FOR LATVIAN CITIZENS
-Non-EU citizens who are living in Latvia on the basis of a residence permit issued by a Schengen member state or Switzerland may stay in Latvia without having to obtain a visa.
-Latvian nationals residing abroad must present their residence permits, passports, and other relevant documents when trying to enter or leave Latvia.
-If you are a Latvian national who resides outside of Latvia and you need to return to Latvia for an urgent reason, you may be able to apply for an emergency visa from the Embassy or Consulate General in your home country.
